For anyone building on agent-to-agent payments, this is the moment the ground shifted. x402 revives the long-dormant HTTP 402 “Payment Required” status code and turns it into a live settlement handshake: an agent requests a resource, the server answers 402 with a price, the agent pays in USDC on-chain, and the resource is delivered — no accounts, no API keys, no human in the loop.
